Without proper lighting, it doesn’t really matter what else you do – you will be unlikely to be able to see it as it should be seen. Getting to grips with lighting can be very tough, but again you need to allow yourself a chance to experiment, and you should find that you can pretty easily ensure that your lighting makes sense. There are a few decisions you will generally need to make. Firstly, the actual fittings and lamps and so on themselves – whether you want them modern, art deco lighting, or whatever. Secondly, the brightness and colour of the lighting, and how much variance you want in that. Lastly, where and how much lighting on the whole. You might want focal points around a room or one major light – it’s up to you.
